Can be connected (as pendrive) to USB port of LED / LCD TV to play media files. But not supported with TAB, when connected via OTG cable.

Got it today and It’s just fantastic.On USB 2.0 speed is upto 22 Mbps and on USB 3.0 I got 105Mbps (average was about 90Mbps).For windows OS no configuration is required.Just plug in and Store.

I was not happy with the outlook of the product. It was not sturdy. Speed was not as expected. Therefore I returned it but the packing was very good. Earlier amazon sent f&d E200 plus sound bar without any packing. Even it was not in bubble wrap. Was not happy with the product but sound bar was outstanding. The product was really good. With an USB 3.0 it gives 120-125mb/s speed which is really good in this priceI got it for just rs.3299. The size of the Hdd is very small and it’s really portable. After using for 2 Weeks,Although Hard size are quite good and its mirror finish looks perfect ….its lacks the speed..I have got the max speed of 45 MB/S only which is pathetic, where as in my previous purchase of WD and Seagate harddisk I used to get speed of 70-110 Mb/s ..So here I Suggest you to not to buy this better find next option .You may get better speed in other Toshiba hard disk model ..Thanks

This has been a good buy for me. I bought it about 6 months ago, and it’s been keeping up. I got it at a lightning deal for just 3,500 INR. It’s a way lot faster than the particular WD Passport that I’ve been using for the last 2 years. Why? It’s got a USB 3.0 cable and while WD charged me about 4,200 INR, they didn’t produce a USB 3.0 cable which makes absolutely no sense. I’d definitely recommend you guys to buy it. From my perspective, I’d say Toshiba is a good brand.

Previously with pen drive I was having issues with forward or rewinding the movies of high bitrate but with Toshiba external Hard drive it’s really a great experience… Now I can easily play even the 4k videos….. When I wanted to add files the next day the drive started to make crackling noise. I could not detect it in my laptop. I tried three lap tops with the same resultI couldn’t return,despite the generous policy by Amazon, because I had to travel and had no opportunity to delete the files before returning the unit. Deletion can only be done by a technician. I AM STUCK WITH A TOTALLY USELESS PORTABLE DRIVE. PLEASE DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA drive. i did buy earlier Seagate and i am very happy with them.

When I wanted to add files the next day the drive started to make crackling noise. I could not detect it in my laptop. I tried three lap tops with the same resultI couldn’t return,despite the generous policy by Amazon, because I had to travel and had no opportunity to delete the files before returning the unit. Deletion can only be done by a technician. I AM STUCK WITH A TOTALLY USELESS PORTABLE DRIVE. PLEASE DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA drive. i did buy earlier Seagate and i am very happy with them.

Think twice before buying Sony Hard disk as it’s a cheap product. The hard disk inside the plastic cover is manufactured by Toshiba, which you can buy at half the cost from open market, as I enquired straight. I had a good image about Sony brand, but seems things have changed a lot since the Chinese technology invasion into making cheaper non durable products. Think twice, here think and buy if you necessarily need a Sony hd only. Thanks
I have ordered a Sony Hard Disk of Black color but i have received white color Hard Disk. I initially thought of seeking for a replacement but then i let it off as it will take a weeks of time for the replacement. And also the black one is bit expensive than the white one, so again it’s a loss of few hundreds for me. Very much disappointed. I started to use it and am not seeking for replacement am informing you as a mistake had happened.

Worked great for 30 days then its oparating system deleted itself and wont even recognize it when its plugged into computer. Never had this problem before but when the price is to good to be true it isn’t
Here are my issues. The Drive CANNOT be partitioned. This is a big Handicap! A full Carbon Copy Clone of a Drive Does NOT appear as a Startup Disk in System Preferences-Startup Disk.The ONLY way I have found to Boot from a Back-Up is via Restart, Option Key Down, Slct Drive and the Boot. A Waste of my time!My attitude on the device is very simple, if you are going to Claim Mac Compatibility, it SHOULD be Mac Compatible!One LAST THING, I ordered several drives ALL Silver, but was shipped Aluminum which, if time permitted, I would have returned!

Very good product, before placing the order i was in doubt whether to opt for this toshiba hard disk or not beacuse in india most of the people prefer seagate or wd , but i am really with the quality toshiba is delivering at much cheaper price than those brands.I got it for 4050rs during great India sale 4450 then 10% hdfc instant discount.Good build quality and very compact in size, light weight but i can feel little vibration when moving data.
Writing my review on 30 June 2019:Product came soon..Cash on delivery..I paid Rs-4899/- on offer period.I using it for one month..No fault..no sound.. silent runninIt capacity is 1.8Tb only..Pocket size this hard disk..u can carry easily In ur pocket..Speed is 24mb/s for copying huge files..Cable is flexible.so no problem to bend it.Case is ok..need to add extra protection for any further of falling down..Weight is light..
Toshiba external hard disks are always awesomely excellent. This particular model is no exception. It is very fast, zippy and very reliable. The only drawback is that its storage capacity is actually 1.81 TB instead of the marked value of 2 TB. Western Digital external HDDs do not have this problem. The format data space occupied in WD disks is comparatively much lower, leading to better utilization of the physical hard disk storage space.

Got it today and It’s just fantastic.On USB 2.0 speed is upto 22 Mbps and on USB 3.0 I got 105Mbps (average was about 90Mbps).For windows OS no configuration is required.Just plug in and Store.
This is the worst product I have ever purchased from Amazon. I copied all files from my old computer and deleted all data. The next day when I tried to restore from this piece of junk I get “the parameter is incorrect” error. This is brand new, WTF
This has been a good buy for me. I bought it about 6 months ago, and it’s been keeping up. I got it at a lightning deal for just 3,500 INR. It’s a way lot faster than the particular WD Passport that I’ve been using for the last 2 years. Why? It’s got a USB 3.0 cable and while WD charged me about 4,200 INR, they didn’t produce a USB 3.0 cable which makes absolutely no sense. I’d definitely recommend you guys to buy it. From my perspective, I’d say Toshiba is a good brand.

Serial no. On the invoice is no where mentioned on the harddisk box and harddisk itself ….please clarify how to relate invoice and the product .otherwise I will have to return the product.
I bought this hard drive as a backup solution. It came well packed and its pretty light and small. At first i thought the box was empty but not.Its a good 1TB hdd giving transfer speeds of 145/150mb/s on USB 3.0I haven’t found any issues so far.Quality 9/10Package 9/10Warranty 9/10 registerableIn the box external hard drive, USB cable and documents.Overall 9.5/10

Very good product at very cheap price. User friendly. White light glows when connected to (slow) USB2 port. Blue light glows when connected to (fast) USB3 port of computer. Can be connected (as pendrive) to USB port of LED / LCD TV to play media files. But not supported with TAB, when connected via OTG cable.
Best hdd for the priceI buyed it for rs 3775Getting high speed for file transfer.I can copy a 6GB file in less than a minute in 3.0 portand up to 40mbps in 2.0 port.I mainly used it to store my Games and movies.Thanks toshiba for making this hddand alsothank you Amazon for free and fast delivery by the Amazon prime service.Thankyou….
I wanted to buy a terabyte wifi hard drive even though I have never used 500 gig on my old one, but tired of dragging the drives off my desk and ruining them!! For 50 bucks I couldn’t say no to trying this unit. I spent the extra $11 to get the drive delivered in 2 days and somehow Amazon delivered!! I don’t know how they did it as I ordered the drive at 1:30 PM on Thursday the 12th and I got it on Saturday the 14th around noon. I really didn’t know what I was buying just something cheap to get me by. What a great treat to receive a tiny little hard drive! I quickly plugged it in and transferred my 16 gig music folder….PA POW…this baby flies! I usually start the transfer and leave for a couple hours…not this time! I watched the data fly over the cable at 75-100 meg and it was done in 5 minutes vs. 3-5 hours!! The included backup software does the job, pretty basic for an IT guy like me…but it works and it is free. If you need a backup drive and want to get rid of the cables that usually cause you to rip it from your desk to its death…BUY THIS DRIVE…IT IS A STEAL FOR 50 BUCKS…if you need a terabyte drive…BUY 4 OF THESE AND REPLICATE!
I have a collection of 10 portable 2.5″ external hard drives from WD, Seagate, Adata, and now Toshiba. 8 of the 10 are USB 3.0. This Toshiba Canvio Slim is definitely the most attractive…the thinnest… and the lightest. The case is a luxurious brushed aluminum – unlike my other cheap plastic cased drives. I can stack 3 of these Toshiba Slim drives on top of each and it’s same height as 1 of my WD Passport drives. The Toshiba Slim is also about 1/2 the weight of my other drives.This Toshiba drive operates at USB 3.0 speeds – achieving constant 110-150 MB/sec transfer speeds. This matches my other 8 USB 3.0 drives. When I received the Toshiba drive, I tested it for bad sections and found none. Rarely do I find bad sectors on new hard drives, but it’s still a test I like to perform.Overall this is an ideal 2.5″ portable hard drive for me – it looks so much better than my other drives, performs just as good, and is 1/3 the size and 1/2 the weight.I bought this because it was the cheapest 500 GB USB 3.0 drive on Amazon at the time. Now, I’m eagerly waiting for Toshiba to release a 2 TB Slim version. They just released the new Canvio SIlm II on June 25, 2013 which has 1 TB of storage. I’m considering using Toshiba Slim drives as my new preferred model. Sorry WD….but you need some slim drives for PC!
I had issues with this hard drive until I did some research, because data transfer and performance were very low, the solution is to enable write caching on it (that’s the same way your internal hard drive is configured, and the reason why must people complain that external drives can’t compete with internal ones, it’s all about write caching), now remember once you do that you must remove the drive only thru the windows safely removal hardware option, simply pulling the USB plug will most likely result in data corruption or loss, power failure could present a problem also (but a laptop has batteries so that’s unlikely to be an issue) another easy option is to turn your computer off prior to pulling the USB plug, for those that are not too knowledgeable about computers here is how you enable write caching on a hard drive (for Windows 7 [other versions of windows should be more or less the same]): go to windows explorer, right click on the drive, click “Properties”, then select the “Hardware tab”, select (highlight) your external hard drive, click on the “Properties” button on the lower right corner, then click the button “Change settings” located on the bottom left corner and select the “Policies” tab, select “Better performance”, and then below that select “Enable write caching on the device”, and click OK. Now you’ll have an external hard drive that will perform just like your internal hard drive.That takes care of the DO’s now for the DON’Ts: Don’t use the provided cable, It’s of very low quality, get yourself another one right here on Amazon (USB 3.0 type A male to Micro USB 3.0 type B male, [remember it’s fully compatible with USB 2.0]) and forget about the included software, you don’t need it, It crashed my computer; that’s about it, good luck & enjoy your drive.

So this one is my 5th HDD purchase of Toshiba.Got it under 7k during sale and 4TB is hugePros- better than wd and SeagateThis is only brand that Connects to smart tv and Android tv.Cons- none
