I bought this Home theatre last week, it took me nearly half a day to know the operating menus. Apart from the remote options, the sound quality is really amazing and I am so happy with its performance. I have seen some review regarding the Fan noise, but it is very less audible. That too you can hear that noise when the system is ideal. Overall, the product is worth for money and I recommend you to buy this product.

Too good a system. Sometimes the treble is higher, but a value for money product. I wanted to buy a Bose soundbar, but it went out of stock and had to settle with this one. But, I am completely satisfied with the product. Buy it to believe it

I read so many reviews before buying this particular model.. I was actually thinking of considering other options in brands.. But I’m glad I bought Sony.. The quality of Sony is still unmatched at the price.. It gives out amazing sound quality, and the bass is really awesome..I’m no professional.. I’ve installed it in my home for regular use and have a good experience while watching Movies and playing games.. I’ve got no complaints..A value for money product this..One thing to mention for someone who is buying for a new home where you want to get the speakers wiring done in the room false ceiling beforehand, so that the wires are not visible. You can buy the speaker wires available in the local market, and get those wires in place in the POP false ceiling. Later when you buy and install the speaker, you just have to join the each speaker wire with subsequent wires you bought from the local market, and that’s all.. The design of the system is such that 5 wires come out of the HT box for 5 speakers, 4 out of the 5 wires are open in the end, that is there is a provision to extend the wires for 4 speakers. Only the Centre speaker doesn’t allow extension. You can get the extension wire at around ₹5 per feet locally.I’m completely satisfied with the product.Seller: Appario Retail Pvt Ltd

  8. Definitely one of the best sounding, well built plug & play 5.1 sound bars currently available in the market. The tallboys come with one tweeter and one speaker each and the soundbar comes with 3 speaker and two tweeters. The two rear tallboys along with front 3 channel soundbar and the sub creates high quality immersive 5.1 experience that makes watching movies quite enjoyable. The bass capabilities together with sharp trebles ensures room rattling sounds with crystal clear voice. The other option considered was JBL 5.1 Channel 4K Ultra HD Soundbar but felt it drowned out voices in the rich bass the sub delivered plus the hassles of charging the wireless rear speakers tilted the decision in favor of Sony.Coming to good aspects of Sony S700RF:- Immersive 5.1 surround sound experience with hassle free set up.- Great design and strong build of entire system- Impressive vocal clarity of the system- Dedicated Bass control on remote helps to adjust bass as per your liking. Not so good things:- Wired set up is clumsy especially at this price range.- Integration with Google home or Amazon Alexa could have been great.- Bit overpriced at this price point. If it could have had the wireless rear set up + google/alexa compatability feel the price was justified.- All ports Optical In, HDMI ARC, Analog/ AUX IN and USB are located on the sub instead of soundbar so that limits how far you can place the sub. However not a deal breaker though.Overall good capable system currently available out there which delivers what it promises.

Got this Home theater for 16.7k (during lightening deals n instant discount on cards) during great Indian festival season sale and a cool 1k Amazon pay back too.The package arrived on the promised day (took a week to reach home which was the promised day) without any damage to the piece inside as it is properly packed.Pros:The sub woofer size is similar to a cpu kept in a computer table at the bottom. (bass effect is quite good)The soundbar is quite loud n crisp and most importantly, no jarring at high sounds. The top of soundbar is made of matte finish n looks premium.Dolby digital is superb and the sound moves through all the available speakers tht you can hear the sound separately. (no atmos with this piece)Remote provided is compact n contains all the necessary functionsConnection through Bluetooth n NFC wireless is seamless n easy!!Connection to TV through HDMI ARC is also good(however, first time it had a little problem to get connected). One good length HDMI cable is provided with the set. If TV doesn’t support HDMI ARC, connectivity is available through optical for which has to be purchased separately.Cons:One of the problems I found is in some YouTube videos, synchronizing to the voice played in video is .5secs to 1secs lesser. But note tht most of the videos were synching properly.Overall would like to rate this piece of Sony mid range, budget home theater, 4.25/5 (tall boy speakers alone could have been given a wireless connectivity) for the price point n the stylish tall boy surround speakers at the back which looks too cool for a HT at this price.

I am a medium level audiophile, so you can take my word for this review. Checkout my other reviews too.I have got the Sony OLED TV recently for my bedroom and wanted to go with an entry level home theater along with it. When I auditioned in stores like Croma and Reliance Digital (very crappy setups consisting of just spreading down the speakers in front of TV with no sound field to talk of), the BDV-E3200 system consistently seemed to out-perform the S500 and seem to sound a bit brighter/lively to my liking, it also had an additional BDP baggage which is not so ideal for the bedroom setup. None of the systems I auditioned in these stores even approached my actual HT room sound with Marantz receiver though and I was in double mind on whether to go with a good 2.1 setup (Swans M50w) or a sony 5.1. During diwali though, got a good offer on HT-S500 and hence pulled the trigger and got it home unsure that I will not like the sound. The whole surprise of the package was awaiting only after the system is setup properly with sound bar below the TV and subwoofer beside it on the floor and rear speakers placed at ear level to the sides. I just checked few youtube, hotstar, netflix videos which are just 2.0 to start with and the system showed a beautifully upscaled sound with great soundstage and presence with the DEFAULT settings. A separates system would require endless matching and fine tuning to get here to start with. Stunned, I connected my external HDD with 5.1/7.1 movie/test tracks to the TV and played via kodi player (just for kicks to access the system and not something which this system was meant for since I have an actual HT room for serious movie playback). The sound was unbelievable and totally unexpected at this price range with compromised speaker designs and without a proper AVR. Stunned, I played other stuff and gathered the below for anyone who are looking for a similar system..1) Completely fills a 14*16 bedroom with beautiful multi dimensional sound.2) Rear speakers seemed to be designed to be placed behind the head rather than on the sides on ear level s with professional setups, still ear level setup is a working compromise.3) Absolutely thrilling upscaling. 2.0 songs are rendered beautifully in 5.0 when played with “all speaker” mode. I have had a hard time to decide which once I like, real 5.1 songs or 2.0. With upscaled audio, some of the spoken words and voice comes through the read channel but instead of being annoying, it is actually immersive giving razor sharp definition to the words. Pro setups do not mix up channels at any cost and will miss out on this effect.4) The sub disappears beautifully with default setup but pumps out great punchy bass. Again, during upscaling 2.0 to 5.1, bass is emphasised more and misses on some clarity but still thoroughly enjoyable.5) Very convincing performance with 5.1 material. Compares to high end systems and misses out on very deep rumble. What it looses on rumble, it makes up with vocal presentation which strangely is better than high end systems (though a bit artificial if you had to nitpick).6) Have unbelievable volume and range for the size. Store demo will never give you this impression.7) Can decode only DD and DTS and none of the HD material (DTS HD Master or DD+ or DD TrueHD). I have setup Kodi player app (Default video player in Sony TV does not play videos with these HD sound formats) to pass though only DD and hence HD material sounds a small bit compromised compared to high end system.8) I cant stress on the voice intelligibility aspect (with ClearVoice+ enabled) and 2.0 to 5.1 upscaling prowess. This is the major strength.9) Connects vis Bravia sync and can adjust volume, on/off etc with TV remote itself. Switches on/off along with TV without an issue.10) Streaming 5.1 content from Netflix and Prime video (reason I got this for) is hugely satisfactory. 2.0 content sound very good as an additional bonus.11) Wires are minimal compared to E3200 and I have pasted white tapes along the length of the room walls to make them vanish.12) ARC perfectly works with Sony TV. Not sure of other brands.Cons:1) Tone test reveals that the sub extends from 30Hz to 210Hz and hence it is producing some of the mid bass that the other speakers are supposed to produce. Professional subs are caliberated to 120Hz or 140Hz max. >140Hz, the bass is directional and should be produced by the satellite speakers ideally. Here it looks like the sub takes some load and letting the satellite speakers relax a bit. This might give an illusion of punchy bass but some will interpret it as boomy bass or unidirectional bass and might give headache to some.2) Since the sub produces some frequencies it is not supposed to produce, it stands out of the other speakers in some bass heavy scenes in movies (like ship wreck or Tsunami). You can feel the sub is punching above its rank and can feel the sub placement etc without it being integrated with the rest of the system.3) In some modes voice comes out through rear speakers which some may not like. Since it makes the vocals sharp, it does not bother me even for hifi vocal songs. All in all this system has some working compromises and has crossed some lines when it comes to frequency response and voice reproduction but ended up being pleasant in doing that. Cannot say that for a lot of systems out there. More than that, comparing it to high end separates tells a lot about the things that have gone into making the system. If you are a purist though, you can switch off all those effects and feel a little bit underwhelmed.. If not just put it in one of the preferred mode and prepare to be awed.I would recommend this to a bedroom sized room for real no compromise setup with setup properly. I got it thinking of living with the compromises and there does not seem to be anything major. Spend some time to setup properly referring some setup guide from youtube and get awe stuck every time.Thank you. Will update my findings later if any.

Pros-overall sound quality is good,Powerfull subwooferAdequate wire length for surround speakersCons-The separation between front left and right is not enough to give a real 5.1 effect, soundbar should have been longerIf u have a TV 50 inch or longer ,the bar looks awfully small and will not compliment the TV eitherMy shipment was delayed ,And only raising a concern with Amazon they expedited. The box came with a little damage and the year of import was July 2018 ,looked a bit aged. However the contents were intact. It would be good if the seller provides the information regarding import date etc. Not totally satisfied with the logistics.

Sony highlights the product HT-S700rf stating “Real 5.1 Channel” home theatre, however it’s a sales gimmick. Logically a home theatre can never give you real 5.1 experience unless there is a clear seperation of front left and right surround speakers and the centre speaker. Manual sound customization options are limited and preset sound options are useless and hardly make any noticable difference. There is no mode of controlling treble output from the tweeters and high frequency soynds are barely audible at normal listening levels. Clearly to save costs Sony has integrated the front surround speakers and centre speaker into a single unit. Hence you cannot distinguish the unique sound effects of the front surround system when watching 5.1 channel movies. This is the first major design flaw of this system. The second big design flaw is people often tend to place the sub-woofer in a place less visible and far from line of vision or away from the television, here however due to the wiring design as well as the display unit which is placed in the sub buyers will be forced to place the subwoofer close to television to enable see the display during use of remote functions. It would have been far more convenient for users to have the display on the central speaker unit or sound bar and I pity Sony designers for lack of basic intellect while designing this home theatre. At almost INR 38,000.00 it’s quite expensive for the cheap quality of tweeters and passive radiators which they have provided on this system. It’s a shame that at this price point Sony has failed to provide regular speakers to generate the mid level sounds. Without these speakers there is zero generation of mids which is essential to have good quality sound output in any home theatre system. Sony claims a very high level of crisp bass but during my over a week of use of this product the bass sounds below average and nothing exceptional. Sound clarity is pathetic even when playing Blu ray DVDS or watching high quality 5.1 videos on YouTube. I own a home theatres which is almost 10 years old with same 1000 watt output but overall sound quality till date is million times better compared to this product. Overall the product is definitely not worth the price and definitely not recommended at this price point, it is better to go for Sony BDV N9200w which is almost double the price at INR 68,000.00 if you can afford the price and sounds absolutely mind blowing with clearly defined 5.1 channel high quality fluidic speakers. Sony engineers definitely need to pull up their socks and go back to the design boards if they wish to keep up to buyers expectations and provide quality products which Sony is known for over the years…

  15. I am writing this review after a month’s usage. Firstly, Sony is the best. Not much use when watching TV ie DTH as output audio of channels are different from one another. I mainly use to listen to music via Bluetooth or via music apps on Fire TV. It sounds perfect. Got separate mode for movie and music. Watching HD movies is too good. I even use this while playing on PlayStation 4. I just love it. Make sure you get an HDMI with ARC support for perfect sound output via sound bar. It’s display is cute and even the remote is cuter. I recommend this sound bar if you are NOT that BASS person and wanted to enjoy beautiful crystal music

I bought this Home theatre after reading too many positive reviews. And it was my mistake. My 10 years old Perx home theatre gives better, louder and clear sound than this.It only produces high bass.Voice clarity is completely missing because It doesn’t have tweeter. It doesn’t produce clean and crisp sound. “S-MASTER Digital Amplifier” is good for nothing.”ClearAudio+” and “Digital Music Enhancer don’t make any much difference. You can only listen high bass and vocals. Quality of bass is not up to the mark like JBL or Yamaha. So, if you are a music lover. You can not enjoy your favourite music on this system. There is no Equalizer setting. You will get distorted sound on max volume. You can not change any settings while watching video. It has pathetic setting interface. You need to go on home screen to change settings. Its remote control is not smart. You can not connect even bluetooth keyboard because it doesn’t support bluetooth HID profile.Pros: it has enough input modes which is very useful. Its design is elegant and size is compact.Wiring and installation is easy.Sound is enough but not really loud for party music. It’s not perfect for its main purpose.I definitely do not recommend this product.

I personally think this is a very good price point for what it has to offer, got it for INR.26,500 in local store. If all-round audio is important and you crave a proper surround sound experience, I would recommend saving up for a higher-end model. However, if you want a one speaker solution with Bluetooth connectivity, that can deliver a sense of surround and can achieve high volume without much distortion, then this may be the best soundbar for you.✔ Pros:✓ Top-quality build.✓ In-built subwoofers (space saver).✓ Delivers very good audio quality for movies and games.✓ Variety of audio options (Bluetooth, Optical, ARC HDMI, Dolby Atmos & DTS:X support).✓ Does a fairly good job at simulating surround sound (room size and shape may vary the audio experience for others). this may be the best soundbar for you.✔cons: No Alexa, Cromecast and NFC

IMPORTANT NOTE:First off all, getting a good surround system is dependent not only on the speakers but many other factors. Your experience is going to be poor no matter which sound system you buy unless you consider for these factors. To get a good surround sound system you should consider:1. Whether the content you’re playing has a 5.1ch sound output in the first place2. Whether the app and/or device you’re playing it in supports a 5.1ch output (for e.g. YouTube app does not have a 5.1ch output)3. Whether your connectivity supports a 5.1ch output; not all devices/connections support 5.1ch (for e.g. if you connect the speakers through a normal 3.5mm jack, you’ll only get a stereo output)So when comments here say the “5.1 doesn’t work” take that not with a pinch of salt but with ‘bunch’ of salt.I have been using the sound system for a little over 2 months and I can say with 100% confidence that it works with absolute charm!!Therefore before you go ahead and make this purchase, please do find out if the device that you intend to hook this up with, has the capability to output 5.1ch through HDMI Arc connection. Not all TVs/devices support this, therefore you’ll end up having all the devices but not getting the surround system feel. Now coming to the sound system in itself. It is a bit of a bummer that the Front Right, Centre and Front Left are in a single sound bar. Ideally you would want them to be slightly spaced. But there is the advantage of the soundbar fitting snugly right below the TV and looking pretty cool. It does give an artificial “spacing”, so no complains here. The Surround Left and Right satellites come with a 10m long wire. They need to be placed at 90-110° from where you sit and since most ideal TV viewing distances are less than 4m, there shouldnt be a problem with lack of length. Please Google for speaker placement for 5.1ch and you’ll come across Dolby recommended positions. Follow that and you’re good to go!The sound itself is amazing! Gives a very good cinematic experience (assuming you have considered all the aforementioned 3 factors). With HDMI Arc connectivity, you should be able to control the speaker volume with your TV remote itself, but this is something that you need to check with your TV.

The X8500 launched with a lot of promises.Primarily that of portability without compromises. There are some claims that hold true.It is a solidly built product with a premium feel. The built in subwoofers are impressive. It does decode ATMOS and DTSx.Can reach fairly good volumes for smaller rooms. However it does not have any virtual surround feel.I know it isnt something that can be expected from a 2.1 channel soundbar but Sony had claimed vertical surround capabilities which is completely gimmicky.I also noticed severe distortion on certain Atmos soundtracks.Unable to understand why. This soundbar will definitely sound far better than built in tv speakers but not better than plenty other soundbars at similar or even lower prices.3 stars at best!

After week of exploring the features of this soundbar, I am writing this review.* For movies, videos this soundbar is doing it what is supposed to do.* For music, kind of o.k. and not so great IMHO.* Vertical Surround is doing a nice job as promised. I could feel the height channel and it could simulate 5.1.2 sensibly, but expecting 7.1.2 is too much. Sony, don’t market too much false promises o.k.* I could feel the Sonic stage and immersive sound enveloping around me. For example, listening to Dolby Atmos Leaf, Shattering and Nature’s Fury in Dolby TrueHD + Atmos object mixing tracks, felt a “WOW”.* I did the demo in my living room sized about 14 x 22 ft. with 8.5 ft height ceiling, and it could envelop the entire room.* I tested with Atmos (DTHD, DD+ with Atmos wrapped), DTS:X, DTS:Virtual X, DTS, Dolby Digital, DD+, Auro 3D, MLP, LPCM track encoded demo contents and whatever I throw at it, it was able to play it.Now come to the down side of the sound bar.1. managing all the settings with series of 6 LEDs is very cumbersome and major disappointing one. A small LCD/LED display would be an good to have and HT-ZF9 is having it.2. No 3.5mm audio jack, which again present in ZF9 (not a major led down)3. BASS is not so great for the 100W (64W rated) sub-woofer. Its kind of flat and couldn’t feel the punch in many situations, which I could feel during my demo (it’s clearly a thumps down).Missing a USB based media playback is a minor disappointment, which ZF9 is having.Verdict:If you want a good soundbar with future proof audio format support, you go ahead and buy it. It won’t disappoint you. But, price wise definitely not worth of 30k. I would say, 23 – 25k max is the right value and that too because its from premium brand like Sony.My rating for the product features and overall will be (mostly for movies. For music this is not the right soundbar look somewhere else):Sound Quality (Mid and High-Range) : 5/5Woofer Quality (Low Freq) : 3.5/5Sonic Stage and Immersive: 4/5Soundbar Controls: 2.5/5 (Lack of display. Stupid design by Sony)Audio formats support:5/5Value added features:0/5 (Analog input, USB playback)Overall Rating:3.75/5

In this price range, HT-S350 is a great speaker. Sound bar and sub woofer have good build quality. The sound is clear and the sub woofer provides deep bass, which make for good cinematic experience. The remote control has a lot of pre-set sound modes, which make changing the settings for different experiences really easy. Connectivity to phone and TV is simple and straightforward. On the down side, the system does not come with HDMI cable, but an optical cable, which is a bit puzzling. I have a 5 year old Sony Bravia LED TV and even that has an ARC HDMI port. Also, the sound bar does not have a USB port for music playback, which actually is not so much of a problem as you can do the same job much better via Bluetooth connectivity to mobile devices.

I wanted to buy HT-RT3 but since i saw this model at lower price i bought this.It is new model launched by sony on FEB 7 2020, the only 5.1 model with soundbar and BT, HDMI ARC, optical cable support below 15K i guess. All comes in one L shaped Box.Bar have holes, you can Mount to wall. (No setup is provided in box for wall mounting)Pros: It has HDMI ARC support, optical cable support, BT, okay for beginner version of home theatre.Sound quality is fine.Okay with Bass(actually it did not meet my expectations)HDMI cable not provided. Buy it seperately.I have used it for 1 day and okay with the performance at this price (Not too much excited with performance yet). Better performance cab be seen once i place soundbar above ground/wallmount. I will upload more Information after 1week of usage.

I bought this Sony’s HT-ST5000 7.1.2ch Dolby Atmos 4K Wireless Soundbar Home Theatre System after reading its review on whathifi.com. And I am not disappointed. My main purpose of this purchase was to improve my plasma TV’s sound and also to listen to Dolby Atmos sound processing. The setup was easy. I have connected my Tatasky HD box, Amazon’s Firestick and Bluray player directly to this soundbar. Overall sound reproduction and integration of bass is excellent. The dialogues are fairly clear. The sound output is huge and powerful enough to fill big rooms (25 x 20 feet). The Bluetooth connectivity is very good. All the features provided are working perfectly. On the downside, the mid range frequencies could had been more subtle and clearer. This becomes more evident when I compare this soundbar’s output with my existing HT system consisting of separates (Pioneer AVR and MA’s 7.1 speaker package). For casual listening, this is a super and future proof product.

Bought this item at an introductory launch where surround speakers were thrown in for free… Also the system is a capable home theater that auguments large TV experience. Update: reduced a star rating as the system takes time to switch from hdmi arc to external hdmi signal and repeatedly goes to hdmi screen selection which really gets on the nerve to scramble for soundbar remote. Should be capable of detecting the hdmi and automatically and switch with minimum lag. And reduced one more star because the atmos is just not so effective. True that for price point this is how much we get but instead of virtual atmos the sound bar could have been integrated with up firing drivers for reasonable hike in price. Now returning to reduce 2 more star as sony customer care solution for HDMI switching lag never worked fully making my purchase a waste. So now setting up a sound system based on AVR and speakers to experience full atmos. Summary : this model is just good for appearance but performance or experience is lacking in a huge way.

  54. This soundbar exceeds expectation by perfectly reproducing the surround sound. The soundbar is sleek and stylish, the rear speakers are compact and matchthe package.Setting up the system is extremely simple, it auto detects the wireless speakers and woofers once powered on. Both the HDMI inputs handle 4K, HDR including Dolby vision. Atmos blurays sound awesome, even some HD channels in DTH provide very good effect when we turn the vertical sound option on. When you see the Atmos programs you literally look above in disbelief to see if there are overhead speakers. Do buy the rear speakers, these render the rear effects perfectly. This is the best soundbar in the market now, and couldn’t get better in a soundbar plus small speakers package. Sony has proved again that they are the leaders in Video, Audio systems.

  73. Don’t be fooled by the discount, it’s actual price is under 15000

    Worth buying this product…

I connected with Sony Bravia TV. Sound in every channel is not similar. Change channel it is very low sound, change channel, suddenly very loud sound. We have to change sound compitability every time on each channel. The company has to look into.

Not worthy to buy this as the Z9F atmos isn’t good which is fake..LG SK10Y is far better compared to Sony’s Z9F..I bought Nakimichi shockwafe pro 7.1 (2018 with fw upgrade)which is of Rs.73k(including shipping & customs)… Atmos was mind blowing..Instead of spending 70k for 5.1 with fake atmos, you can go for this…I was astonished by Nakimichi’s performance..You can try if you want spend 70,k. Sony always launch their product in India late as the left off in the other countries will be sold in India(z9F was launched in Jan 2018 in US,but launched in India only in July 2019)
