I have bought 2TB BK plus slim HDD in March 2017 and I had checked it first time it was working fine. After six months second time I tried to connect my drive to PC now it is not showing and beeping. I tried to find the online solution nothing is working. I spent 6500 INR and my external HDD is not working I’m very upset and NOT happy with the product of Amazon.

Within less than a month it stopped being detected by my computer. With extremely important data in it I had to send it for recovering data which is not included in the warranty, costed me 45000 to recover from a 4K worth device.

The hard disc is not working at all… it is a faulty product…Please tell whether it will be replaced or I have to claim for warranty. At first I tried to connect it to my desktop..it was not connecting…I thought that their could be any problem with my desktop. So I brought a friend’s laptop and found that it is not connecting to the laptop too.

Great product !!! Smart buy !!!I think of it as a great choice for enhancing storage and backing up important data.I found the product to be sleek, hardly taking up any table space.I could easily connect another Seagate 4 TB Backup plus, USB 3.0, external, ‘powered’ hard drive along with a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500 GB, USB 3.0 hard drive, which worked flawlessly together. The basic concept is, the two USB 3.0 ports act as additional ports for USB devices expansion. So even if you connect a USB mouse, keyboard, speakers, pen drives or anything which requires a USB port, work here also. Cellphone, power bank charging as wellThe data transfer speeds entirely depend upon the type of USB port (2.0/3.0) you plug it into.Best part about USB 2.0 & 3.0 is that they are both ways compatible.I’ve always believed USB, as one of the best inventions and best among interfaces for IT related products.———————————————————————-Regarding Amazon, their network of vendors and delivery services, I had ordered the product at around 9.27 pm on Nov 2, 2018, and it was delivered at 7.59 am (almost a wake up call) on Nov 3, 2018. That’s like within 11 Hrs.Great work, Great Network !!!

Current prices is not worth per TB. I had purchased this during sale.If you have more than 8TB or close 8TB worth of data, It’s always better to buy 10 TB so that you don’t have to split your data in multiple drives. This is a standard product . I had good experience with Seagate HDD in the past. The read and write speeds is more than 100MBps when both the destination and source are using USB 3.0 ofcourse.

Fastest delivery. Product received in very good condition and worked as expected. Product may not be portable as it is bulk. Almost 4x bigger than the regular HDD. The USB hub also works fine but speed is at par to 2.0 only.

Very nice

I’m using this for my Xbox One X. The internal storage is way too small. Plugged it in and formatted as per xbox instructions. Loaded all my games onto and haven’t even reached 20% storage capacity. Highly recommended.

I own several external hard drives, and out of all of them only the Seagate ones have been hassle-free. They just work, and keep on working. I have small form factor (2-1/2″) portable USB hard drives in sizes from 1 TB to 4 TB, and they’ve all given trouble free service. I returned this one (probably a short-sighted move on my part as it was on sale) only because I received an identical drive as a birthday gift only a day after this one arrived, and before I’d even opened the box. The one I received as a gift (the identical model bought from Amazon) is already hard at work. I’ll probably regret returning this one – computer data seems to expand to fill all the space available! I have had only good experiences from my 2-1/2″ Seagate drives, whether 1 TB, 2TB or 4TB capacity. It’s hard to find a better external storage drive, especially when these are on sale.

Not working good..Gets files corrupted..Have lost many important files of mine.No service available..Sector errors.. during or after copying..Getting errors in from all PCs I tried.Wasted money..Had great hopes from Amazon and Seagate..
chaitanya krishnan –
got it on sale, so was quite happy. After a month of using it with a iMac and FCP we found that the project files should not be saved on the drive as this causes it to disconnect often. Its only usable if footage is stored on it, and the actual fcpx project is saved on the internal imac’s drive.

This one is not portable. Otherwise there is no problem in this product. Transfer speed is satisfactory. A little bulky as well. After one year of use, it has stopped working. I’ve lost all my data. And I thought my data would be safe for a long time. Hard to laugh

My storage device stopped working after 6 months and when i decided to replace it, I faced lot of problems. Seagate customer care is pathetic, they are literally making me wait on calls for 10-15 minutes without answering my queries, and this has been happening from past 2 months. I also registered my product on Seagate website for replacement purpose but nothing happened. They want me to drop this device at their service centre but for that i need customer ID which i can get through customer care. So, I am trapped in this vicious cycle from past 2-3 months.

I bought this 2Tb hard disk on one of the Amazon shopping festival for about ₹5000. It was great deal since its usually a bit higher than this. Well about the hardrive , Have been using it for around 3 months now , Haven’t had any issues so far. It has got moderate tranfer speed around 30 to 40 Mps. It produces a bit of noise which you won’t even notice. If you are looking for a HardDisk to store your stuffs, This is a must have. I definitely recommend this.👍P.S : A Protection case would be good.Regards,SureshIf you’ve found this useful, Then do let me know by hitting thay button👍

This is my 10th Seagate HDD purchase. I really love seagate external hard drives. I have 1 TB, 1.5 TB and 2 TB. A few days ago, when i saw this new model edition and i thought of giving it try. I liked the design but the problem is its in ”exFAT” system format. Usually, most of the drive will be in NTFS which is quite user friendly. But this ”exFAT” has biggest problem with transfer speed. So, i have to format to NTFS and now, transfer speed is good. So, as of now, its better to go for older model than new one. Because full formatting takes hours and it just painful and consumes time. Yes, you can go for quick format but full format identifies bad sectors and it literally completes formatting procedure.Of course, ”exFAT” is advance file system of FAT32. And also it detected with Sony LED TV. But the problem is transfer speed. And also i read the file system formats in Seagate website, especially about ”exFAT” file system, kindly see below:”exFAT: generally compatible with Mac and Windows. exFAT is not a journaled file system which means it can be more susceptible to data corruption when errors occur or the drive is not disconnected properly from the computer”This is not user friendly but you have to format it to NTFS to make it as user friendly. Therefore, i leave it up to you, guys! and its your call for going for this new edition of Seagate.

At the heart of the matter, the write speeds are low, in my case virtually “0”. Crystal disk mark for a 64Bit Windows machine is given.Would recommend some other Tier 1 brands instead of this if the drive is used for backup, you need good and sustained speeds, which this drive does not giveOn the positive the product looks good, much nicer than the earlier gen for sure.
s. sikdar –
NOTE: All are tested on windows 10 with USB 3.0 compatible port & cable.writing speed: I got maximum of 109MB/s for *.zip file avg 50MB/s for some *.mkv files to exFAT & NTFS formatreading Speed: avg 100MB/s for same *.zip file maximum 110MB/s for *.mkv file I am facing heating issue while transferring files & connected standby.

Beware don’t buy this hard drive, this is utter garbage hard drive, from the first the day it came I plugged it into my laptop it was making weird clicking and clattering noise even when it was not reading or writing and then comes surprise when i started copying data on this drive which was a nightmare i was merely getting 50mbps over usb3.0 and when i tried copying my 2tb data on it from my passport drive it was copying at 20mbps showing 3 days to complete and all the time it was clicking and clattering as if it was going to fail any minute, this all this is because SEAGATE HAS USED AN ARCHIVE HDD IN THIS BACKUP PLUS WHICH USES SMR TECHNOLOGY PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRIVE
