But, Amazon was quick to rectify the mistake with a replacement immediately. Later when I searched online did I come to know that it was a minor software defect which I could have solved on my own. The person who tested my Kindle at factory had forgotten to exit the Diagnostic Mode. Except for this minor problem which could have been solved without replacement, I am completely satisfied with my Kindle!!It works exactly like a new one and looks 98% identical to a new one!! Buying this Kindle could be more beneficial as we are getting a device that has been thoroughly tested to work like a new one at a lesser price than the new one!! I would recommend this device to anyone who would love to get a great Kindle experience at a lesser price!! One year manufacturer warranty is a bonus that hardly any manufacturer would provide for their refurbished product!! As I have bought and used it, I recommend anyone to confidently buy it. Kindle paperwhite is fine…….. the cover is of good quality not of great quality….. the whole thing appears to be the size of a small novel. So don’t expect the screen to be a large one

Noticed the details after receiving the product. I didn’t know that you cannot read this kindle in the dark. I have now carried the product out of country and am left with no option. Else i would have loved to return this product and buy the one supporting back light. Is there a way i can still do this?

I’m writing this after using this kindle for six months.WHAT THIS KINDLE HAVE AND PAPERWHITE DOESN’T::: this kindle has a “Voiceview screen reader”, it means if you connect to a bluetooth speaker it will read the book aloud for you. this option is not there in paperwhite..battery::: at beginning when you charge once you can use it for a week, but no it drains in five to six days an it also depends on how much you read. also, if you switch on wifi then battery may drain in two days or even quicker. you should e on airplane mode to get good battery life. when you connect to your computer it takes one and half hour to two hours to charge full. when it got fully charged indicating light turn to green from orange.screen::: it have touch screen, which is so sensitive. when you are reading if a house fly sits on screen it activates the screen and it will show the meaning of the word where it sat(long touch to see a meaning of unknown word). you can slide even with a pen cap. screen is a bit inside to its border frame so dust formation at the corners and it is difficult to clean. you can change the font size to make the letters biggers or smaller. it also provide landscape view(change in settings). it shows battery and time on right top.flipcover::: flipcover is also important, because you need not to press the power but when you start or finish reading. when you close it automatically goes in power saving mode. when you open it, it shows what you are reading. if you press the power button and off the screen you get even good battery life.dictionary::: kindle has oxford dictionary pre installed and you can also download merriam-webster’s dictionary also. it has other language to english dictionaries ( like german, italian, french, japanese, chinese, gujarathi, malayalam..) but you need to download them. kindle also has word wise, when you switch it on kindle shows meaning for tough word just above the word(you need nor to again do anything). but some books doesnt have this option.reading experience::: at first it may be inconvenient, but on use it feels normal. there are lot of book on kindle store. but when you read pdf, it is very inconvenient, this is not for pdf files. also the processing speed not good, it feels very slow. it stores lots of books may be hundred. there will be no distractions, no ads or anything you can totally concentrate on what you read.glare::: if you go into intense sun it gives glare like shine. but in normal conditions it is good.browser::: it has experimental browser when you connects to wifi, it can connect to wikipedia and to google. but slowly.

Kindle paperwhite is fine…….. the cover is of good quality not of great quality….. the whole thing appears to be the size of a small novel. So don’t expect the screen to be a large one

This Kindle would be an amazing deal for someone who is looking out to save some money!! You are also doing your share of contributing to nature by using a product that has been recycled!! Even-though this Kindle has a refurbished tag, except for some hard to notice usage signs, the Kindle is perfect inside out!! Amazon has done a great job in providing this line of refurbished Kindle!Though, when I received my Kindle, it was booting only to Diagnostic Mode which made me quite disappointed. But, Amazon was quick to rectify the mistake with a replacement immediately. Later when I searched online did I come to know that it was a minor software defect which I could have solved on my own. The person who tested my Kindle at factory had forgotten to exit the Diagnostic Mode. Except for this minor problem which could have been solved without replacement, I am completely satisfied with my Kindle!!It works exactly like a new one and looks 98% identical to a new one!! Buying this Kindle could be more beneficial as we are getting a device that has been thoroughly tested to work like a new one at a lesser price than the new one!! I would recommend this device to anyone who would love to get a great Kindle experience at a lesser price!! One year manufacturer warranty is a bonus that hardly any manufacturer would provide for their refurbished product!! As I have bought and used it, I recommend anyone to confidently buy it. This Kindle is a great deal!!

Noticed the details after receiving the product. I didn’t know that you cannot read this kindle in the dark. I have now carried the product out of country and am left with no option. Else i would have loved to return this product and buy the one supporting back light. Is there a way i can still do this?

Battery is draining drastically within 6 months. I need replacement for this product. I have spent 13 k to read books and its not worth at all. Please be careful before buying it.

I’m a beginner in reading novels, first i used to buy physical copies of each and every book, well they have their own significance you cannot compare both of them, but with them i used to struggle, i couldn’t finish them and sometimes it was very difficult to read with that small fonts and looking at some of the thickness of books i used to give up, just by finishing 1 chapter, BUT with kindle not only i was able to finish books it was very interesting how our mind reads a whole long book on a device rather than on the physical copies, this observation was made when i bought my kindle, i read my kindle when i get any possible free time, let it be airport, coffee shops etc. we can carry a bunch of books or let me say the whole library on the go. Kindle is harmless many think it may weaken our eyes, but trust me it doesn’t even cause a 0.1% strain on our eyes.The starter pack is definitely a very good combo for the everyone it gives accidental protection for 2 years, and 2000 Rs promotion from amazon from which we can buy 20-40 books at 100 Rs discount each and every time, and you get a cover which is good but not great, i would recommend buying the official case which you may get at some deal for 599/-.

The power button on my Kindle device was not functioning. I informed Amazon customer care, they said that my product would be replaced. In replacement, I got a refurbished device! I cannot accept a refurbished device when I have paid the full price for it. Amazon did not even inform me that they would give me a refurbished device. This is plain cheating. If you have given me a faulty product to begin with, you cannot replace it with a refurbished one. What is the fault of the customer in all this? Why should they get refurbished devices when they have paid the full amount for a new one?

It has been a month since the kindle stopped working.I have two of them and even after a formal complaint no one fixed it for us.the after sales service is very disappointing.

Are you considering buying a Kindle? Here’s my experience. First, the delivery and packaging were amazing. After opening the package, it showed a symbol of a battery with an exclamation mark in it. No need to panic. That just indicates you need to charge the device before you can start using it. It came with a USB cable which I connected to my mobile charger and charged the device. Then I connected the device to WiFi and downloaded books.It has been an amazing experience using this device. It is very easy on the eyes unlike mobile phones and tablets. You can see from the pictures I am attaching. It is also much easier to turn pages on the Kindle device when compared to a phone or a tablet. The size and feel is just like a book, only it is easier to carry. This is really good if you want to read for long hours. Reading for long hours on a mobile phone or tablet is very straining to the eyes. You won’t face that problem on a Kindle.Finally, this Kindle uses e-Ink which means the screen flashes every time you turn a page. What this means is the screen turns black and the letters white for just a moment while turning the pages. This is for better rendering. Nothing to worry about.Finally, I have been reading Kindle (.mobi & .azw3) as well as PDF books on this device and they work fine.Go ahead, if you want to read a lot, get a Kindle! You will be happy.
