I have heard people complaining about the viewfinder all but believe me being a beginner/ amateur photographer or if you are using it for general purpose, it won’t let you down. This thing is a monster and Image quality is fabulous.

Price is a bit high, but the quality is wow.The autofocus is insanely fast. Even at 200mm the picture is sharp and no loss in quality. A mic input could made this “The Perfect Vlogging Camera”. But still this is “The perfect travel camera”.

When I purchased this camera I was new to photography with such a type of camera. Now I am 2k+ photos experienced. Said that I would also state I am nowhere near even to say I know 1% of basics of photography. I just do it the way it pleases me.Some of my pics I have shared here. None of them is edited. Just captured in manual mode. With a range of settings control. This is show the versatility of the camera.Coming to the camera.. The pros and cons which I would mention in layman’s languagePros:1. You can take picture of cute smile of person sitting next to you and decently detailed photo of moon with the same camera without the issues of replacing the lens2. The cost is very cheap for the quality of pics its providing, given that you should know how to handle it and use its features to its best of ability.3. It captures the details of the picture very well. Refer the different pics linked alongwith this comment.4. With the help of Cannon app one can easily transfer photos from camera to mobile instantly, it uses mobile wifi to do it., so the speed of transferring is extremely good.5. One can start playing with following three settings to learn to take good quality pics in manual mode: 1) aperture setting, 2) shutter speed and 3) ISO. If you have time try to read about it on internet, else you can simply learn by changing it and observe what is happening. Else, auto mode is always there for those who don’t want to do it. Only thing is you are not always assured of the quality of the pics. The range of these settings are more in high end cameras which 8 out of 10 times we won’t feel its necessary.6. Lightweight: I feel, It falls in feather weight category of the cameras out there! At times when I am carrying its case I just press it and see to be sure whether the camera is inside it or not. This is a disadvantage with high end cameras since the lens weights adds up which makes it inconvenient.Cons:1. Only issue I felt was the maximum number of photos one can capture in a single charge is just 200! A normal dslr captures any where between 400-600 pics in once charge!But considering the price this short coming can also can be neglected. Else carrying an additional battery can sort that issue too.For all the beginners and photo enthusiasts out there who are not interested in shelling out too much bucks pick up this one and capture the beautiful moments around you. You won’t regret a bit.

Request Sony to give a bigger camera bag with RX100M6.The one given with this is too small to fit camera (Camera is too wide).The bag does not close with camera inside.

I purchased this for the reason of its Carl Zeiss lense as shown in the picture..but delivered camera with ZEISS.Very disappointed with the lense label and made in china label. Though I lost my excitement after seeing above but performance wise it is 100 pc satisfied. Can go for it…

Canon has downgraded from previous version SX60HS on certain aspects, the sensor size is same, the zoom range is same, No external flash shoe, no place to mount external microphone, from 16 MP to 20 on a 1/2.3″ sensor, image quality is only going to suffer, 4k only going to eat up memory card, on such a small sensor you’re better of on 1080p 60 fps, the good bits are the small size, best viewfinder, digic 8 processor, it would be better to buy body only DSLR then combine it with 55-250 mm or 18-135 mm lens, which will give not only better quality but will also be almost the same price as this, but if you are still a hardcore fan of high zoom videography, you’ll need a tripod , when you’re putting it on tripod , you might as well buy Nikon P1000 then, double the zoom

I wanted to leave a review because I almost didn’t buy this camera after reading the other reviews and that would have been a shame. I had the Canon SX60 but during a visit to the swamp it fell in the water and stopped working. I was heartbroken because I loved that camera. I almost bought that model again but thought I would take a chance on the newer SX70. I have been using it for several days now on my birding forays. Like any camera, I had to get used to it, but I made the transition fairly easily from the SX60.Other reviewers mentioned issues with the menus. I didn’t have issues, but i was expecting to after reading the other reviews. So I took the precaution of going through all the menus just to get familiar with them after I charged the batteries and before I went into the field. I was able to program the C1 and C2 settings the way I preferred them with very few issues. My biggest stumble was saving the settings because I kept thinking the menu would say Save like the Sx60, but it says Register settings (specifically, you go to the wrench/tools menu, Custom shooting mode, then select Register settings, and whatever settings you have selected will be saved for your choice of C1 or C2). It was not difficult, just different. I do suggsst familiarizing yourself with the menus before doing anything. There are more menus than on the SX60 and they are set up a little differently.The camera itself has been working well for me. I will note that it feels more “plasticky” and less solid than my old SX60, but I am okay with that so far. It also uses different batteries which is too bad as I have a lot of old batteriesfor my other camera. I do like the bluetooth connection to my tablet–it took me a little messing around to set it up, but it works well.I included my first shot as an example. Just a cardinal at our bird feeder, but it does give you an example of a casual photo that is possible without doing anything special at all. I am not a photographer. I just like taking photos of birds and our dogs.Anyway , I wanted to give another viewpoint. I like this camera so far and am glad I took a chance on it.

 Zooming is wow , good for just click pics don’t expect any extra effects. Battery backup could be more for long time photography and shooting, drained within couple of hours.

I brought this in emergency for my Manali Trip and it worked for me! Mainly its zooming capacity helped me for to capture beautiful landscapes, soaring of vulture, different modes as per natural lighting and adventurous activities like paragliding, river rafting and skiing.I will suggest all beginner as it also helps manual ISO, light settings, different mode (P). It can replace DSLR as beginner

I will just try to put the Pros/Cons I have had based on my way of usage.Pros — Day time performance is almost flawless and picture come out very well in terms of clarity, color and details.- Since I use this to capture pics of my daughter most of the times, the Sport’s mode pics come equally well as its hard to make children stay still for long :)- On days where I put this on a tripod and want photos auto-clicked, I would just enable the face detect feature, as soon as it gets a face in focus it would take the pic.- Indoor photos come very natural toned if u pull the flash towards ceiling to make the light reflect from top rather than flash throwing all light on the subjects. Again the movable flash makes it possible.- Again low light photos where flash is not possible or subjects are a little far, you can achieve good pic by switching to manual mode (though you need some knowledge of what setting to do and how as per the Envt.) Fo those who are really new, thye can chose modes like Aperture only/Shutter Only rather than full manual modeCons — Not really much to complain on picture quality side, but the camera had to visit service center twice over 1.5 years due to lens Jam. Had been using Canon cameras for past 6 years and hence trusted Canon and Amazon hence ordered IXUS 285 series while planning a vacation trip.The delivery took more than a week and on testing found that it can’t do the basics. It can’t focus on the intended objects and shoot a clear picture. Tried changing settings, used tripod, used macro, but all in vain. How hard you try it had a poor software hardware combo die to which it’s unable to take any clear shots..On top, when I tried to return this pathetic product within 2nd day, Amazon customer service agent says they will provide only replacement and no return refund..Won’t recommend this camera or Amazon to anyone..

Lightweight: I feel, It falls in feather weight category of the cameras out there! At times when I am carrying its case I just press it and see to be sure whether the camera is inside it or not. This is a disadvantage with high end cameras since the lens weights adds up which makes it inconvenient.Cons:1. Only issue I felt was the maximum number of photos one can capture in a single charge is just 200! A normal dslr captures any where between 400-600 pics in once charge!But considering the price this short coming can also can be neglected. Else carrying an additional battery can sort that issue too.For all the beginners and photo enthusiasts out there who are not interested in shelling out too much bucks pick up this one and capture the beautiful moments around you. You won’t regret a bit.

I have heard people complaining about the viewfinder all but believe me being a beginner/ amateur photographer or if you are using it for general purpose, it won’t let you down. This thing is a monster and Image quality is fabulous.

This is a best point and shoot, pocket friendly camera for beginners. Good photo quality, handy, zoom.Even the video quality is quite good.Photos can be transferred to your phone quickly via WiFi.Low light photos was a disadvantage alog with it’s cost.

I bought it to gift someone & when I got feedback from them, they were quite disappointed with the overall experience with the camera. They said it’s too pricey for its performance. When I compared it with my Sony cyber shot, it not doing good enough to compete(Sony cybershot worth 15k). It’s also a bit heavy. I like it’s raise up flash mechanism. It takes some decent pictures but it not good in low light. I prefer Sony over Canon in this segment but when it comes to DSLR canon has its unbeatable mark in many areas. Thank you. -Sri Tech Guy.

When I purchased this camera I was new to photography with such a type of camera. Now I am 2k+ photos experienced. Said that I would also state I am nowhere near even to say I know 1% of basics of photography. I just do it the way it pleases me.Some of my pics I have shared here. None of them is edited. Just captured in manual mode. With a range of settings control. This is show the versatility of the camera.Coming to the camera.. The pros and cons which I would mention in layman’s languagePros:1. You can take picture of cute smile of person sitting next to you and decently detailed photo of moon with the same camera without the issues of replacing the lens2. The cost is very cheap for the quality of pics its providing, given that you should know how to handle it and use its features to its best of ability.3. It captures the details of the picture very well. Refer the different pics linked alongwith this comment.4. With the help of Cannon app one can easily transfer photos from camera to mobile instantly, it uses mobile wifi to do it., so the speed of transferring is extremely good.5. One can start playing with following three settings to learn to take good quality pics in manual mode: 1) aperture setting, 2) shutter speed and 3) ISO. If you have time try to read about it on internet, else you can simply learn by changing it and observe what is happening. Else, auto mode is always there for those who don’t want to do it. Only thing is you are not always assured of the quality of the pics. The range of these settings are more in high end cameras which 8 out of 10 times we won’t feel its necessary.6.  Zooming is wow , good for just click pics don’t expect any extra effects. Battery backup could be more for long time photography and shooting, drained within couple of hours.

After 1 day of usage , the one thing i liked the most is its zoom capability , even at 40x zoom image stabilization does its best to get clear image, u can read a vehicle’s number plate at max optical zoom. Photography at low light is somewhat average whereas in outdoors its awesome. Will update after using it couple of days.

Canon has downgraded from previous version SX60HS on certain aspects, the sensor size is same, the zoom range is same, No external flash shoe, no place to mount external microphone, from 16 MP to 20 on a 1/2.3″ sensor, image quality is only going to suffer, 4k only going to eat up memory card, on such a small sensor you’re better of on 1080p 60 fps, the good bits are the small size, best viewfinder, digic 8 processor, it would be better to buy body only DSLR then combine it with 55-250 mm or 18-135 mm lens, which will give not only better quality but will also be almost the same price as this, but if you are still a hardcore fan of high zoom videography, you’ll need a tripod , when you’re putting it on tripod , you might as well buy Nikon P1000 then, double the zoom
