I am surprised that there are thousands of reviews but no one described it fully, So I am going to write a detailed review. I will explain full features, pro and cons.Kindly Read full review if you want to invest in it.Buying process:I was looking for Chromecast for a long time, but after launch of amazon fire stick tv, I researched and decided that it is better than the Chromecast in many aspect, so I purchased it during festive sell.Packaging and delivery:I am a prime customer so delivery was quick and I received it in 2 days, packaging was superb. It comes in a box with bubble wrapped around it. The black box inside looks pretty. I have added images of unboxing. What is it:It is a smart device made by Amazon to convert your simple TV into a smart TV. You need a TV which supports HDMI connection. After installing it you can do almost everything that you can do in a smart TV.Also You will get an amazing remote with it.What can you do with it:1. It comes with a non infra-red voice remote which is simple but powerful , you will not need tv remote to change the initial connection from TV to HDMI, just press any button on remote and you are ready to go.2. You can install apps from built in Amazon app store.3. There are plenty of good apps avaliable like hotstar, Amazon prime video, YouTube, JioCinema, Netflix and many more.4. You can install third party app also like web browser but you have to be a little techy for doing the same. Watch any YouTube tutorial for installing a web browser. ( Now Firefox browser is available on app store)5. You can control everything by remote given as well as by your mobile by downloading fire tv remote app. Controlling fire stick via mobile a lovely thing, because you can also type via your mobile keyboard otherwise you have to use on screen keyboard.6. You can mirror you mobile screen and Windows 10 laptop to tv. So with fire stick just forget about any wired connection. You read it right, you can mirror your laptop too. For doing so press home button for about 2 seconds and open screen mirroring screen in fire TV and then open screen mirroring in your mobile or laptop.7. Don’t worry about how to operate it, it will gives you various tips on 1st time startup.8. During screen mirroring, you can press any button on remote to exit the mirroring.9. You can connect it to any wifi or wifi hotspot just like you do in mobile via it’s setting menu.10. Unfortunately you will need a high speed at least 512 KBps connection to watch videos in full HD. But with JIO you can manage with it. :pInstallation :1. Look at the attached pictures.2. Put batteries in the remote.3. Put fire stick in HDMI extender if you want or need it and plug it into your TV’s HDMI port.4. Plug USB cable in the fire stick USB port and connect adopter to normal 220V AC supply. (wire length is only 1 meter so you will need power supply near TV)5. Change input type of your TV to HDMI via your TV remote.6. Now i don’t need to tell anything because you will see necessary instructions of installation on your TV screen. :pPROS:1. It Supports various apps like JioCinema, Netflix, SonyLIV, Youtube, Amazon Prime VIDEO, Hotstar and the list goes on. You can install/uninstall apps.2. it have a lovely and durable remote with it but who need it because you can control the stick via your mobile.3. You can mirror your laptop and mobile with it fulfils the purpose of chromecast.4. You can use it’s voice function, just say any movie name, actor name and it will show you everything. It works for 90% of case.5. Good Dolby digital sound, and I paired it with Sony 5.1 home system and it gives a great experience.6. As already told, it can wake up the TV if you press any button on it. So Need of external TV remote everytime.7. It gives us an option to use screen saver like we see in shopping mall and believe me these screen savers are great. Sometimes you will just leave it idle to see the screen savers.8. Watching Movies in amazon prime videos is a joy, because it shows X-ray of nay movie. You can read actor name, jump to specific scenes, music etc.CONS:1. Many one says that set up process in not easy, but believe me it’s easy. Just follow instructions I gave, and instructions on tv screen.2. It always run on highest quality, you will not get an option to watch videos at 480p if you want to save your data. (however if your connection speed it slow it will run on 480p or lower)3. If you switched to cable connection or say Tata sky, it don’t get automatically turned off, thus it will consume your data. So end every task before making a switch.4. While mirroring, some videos have lags, you will feel like you are watching videos in slow motion. That’s why I deducted 1 star.5. The remote don’t have any volume button.6. I can’t find anymore, except now I have 5 remotes in total. :DOverall verdict:If you want to watch tv via internet, if you are planning to take chrome cast, if you want to enjoy TV show whenever you want, then this device is for you. Go ahead, Buy it and enjoy.Update on 25/01/18:1. You can still Watch YouTube, Even you can browse the web, I am pasting manufacturer comment here”To access YouTube, download the Firefox or Silk full web browsers for free today. You can even use your Fire TV Stick remote buttons to easily search, navigate, and play, pause, and fast forward web videos. To download one of these apps, simply search for “Firefox” or “Silk” using your remote. With Firefox and Silk web browser on Fire TV, the entire world wide web is now at your fingertips. You can now access all your favorite web content on the big screen including sports, news, TV shows, movies, social news and web videos. “2. there is much content available on it without premium subscription of any app like Hotstar, Still if you want, you can buy premium subscription of apps like Netflix, Hotstar, SonyLiv etc. Even if you don’t take premium subscription You can watch any show on it after one day, Just use Hotstar and JioCinema app to watch TV shows, (all TV shows are available in these 2 apps after 1 day)3. you can run JioCinema on WiFi also, You don’t need Jio Sim card for watching JioCinema.4. For watching English TV shows, you can take amazon prime subscription or ‘Hotstar premium’ subscription. That’s all, still If you have any query or any technical problem, feel free to contact me. Happy to Help. 🙂

Kindly read this if you’re planning to buy a fire TV stick.I’ll explain everything you need to know before buying this device.I was very excited when I got to know that Amazon was planning to launch its media streaming devices to India.I was expecting the fire tv, I don’t know why Amazon only launched the fire TV stick in India. Anyway, without thinking any further, I ordered it when they launched it in India.Unlike its elder brother, Fire tv stick doesn’t have 4k streaming. It’s still an excellent choice if you have a 1080p set.Fire Tv Stick is mostly a success. Its interface (including the voice search) is incredibly snappy and fast, and it gives the access to move across apps that you use on a regular basis.Introduction-*Amazon fire Tv stick is a media streaming device which lets you stream video, install apps, play music etc on your tv.*It’s built on the Android platform and it converts your normal tv to a smart tv.*You can install android apps on the device and play games and enjoy music too.*It’s an HDMI stick and all you need is an HDMI port on your television and you’re good to go.Design-*The fire tv stick is no bigger than a USB which you can just plug into your television slot.*Make sure you have another free power slot close by.*This is because the Amazon Fire TV Stick needs to be plugged into one in order to work.*There’s a micro-USB slot, which is used to charge the device.*Plugging in the Amazon Fire TV Stick is pretty simple.*The device is compact and doesn’t really require a lot of space.*This comes with its own remote with voice control features.Use-*Main use is to watch content from the internet.*You can watch everything that’s available online through Amazon Prime or Netflix or any other website.*You can sideload any android apps.*It also has its own Amazon built-in app store from where you can download the apps.*Even if you don’t have a DTH or cable connection you can watch Tv with airtel TV and Jio Tv (Watch tutorials on Youtube).*It comes with many apps preinstalled such as Hotstar, Sony Liv, Airtel Movies, Jio Cinema, Netflix, Gaana, Prime Music and many more.*The voice remote is Bluetooth connected and can be operated very easily.*Screen mirroring is possible but not very smooth.Setting it Up-*Setting it up is quite simple.*Connect it to your Tv’s HDMI port, plug it to the power adapter and once you’re done, grab the remote.*You sign in with your Amazon account (if you purchase this on Amazon.in, it’ll come with your credentials preloaded).*The home screens are laid out in such a way that you need to scroll right or left to switch between apps, Prime TV shows, and the Movies library—it is a breeze to search for and discover new content.*Connect it to any wifi networks or your mobile hotspot and you’re good to go.Parental controls-*Fire TV Stick comes with parental controls settings.*Users can set a PIN to restrict access of mature content by children.*Company says that all movies and TV shows in the Amazon Prime Video catalog, as well as apps from the Amazon App store, come with maturity ratings by age group.Track data usage-*Users can keep a check on their data consumption through Fire TV Stick.*Using the data monitoring feature on Fire TV, users can select their preferred viewing quality to manage data use.*Also user can configure their Fire TV Stick to alert them before data use exceeds their preset limit.Voice search remote-*Voice Remote responds instantly and lets users easily search for Amazon Video content using their voice.*It doesn’t let you search content in other apps like youtube.*Though the voice function doesn’t come to use much, the Bluetooth remote is incredibly fast and easy to use.*However it doesn’t have any volume controls, and that’s a big miss.*Also Indian users don’t get Alexa assistant like the US version.*I’ve got queries from users about the battery consumption of the remote. In my experience, its average and I never changed the battery in almost 6,7 months and its still working fine.Speed-*Fire Tv stick is very fast, it even works on a 1mbps plan and streams HD.*Internal storage could’ve been increased, as it only comes with around 5gb free space.*You can connect a USB Otg host cable and connect pen drives to increase storage or a wireless keyboard or mouse to it.Other Features-*You can connect Bluetooth headphones or speakers to the fire stick.*Apps are available for the stick on the app store and play store, which can be used to make your mobile as a keyboard.*You can directly play videos from Prime video and even youtube app from your mobile to your fire tv stick with one click.*You should have the same account registered on both the device for this feature.*My sony remote works fine for the fire Tv. So that I don’t have to use 2 remotes at the same time.Youtube-*Amazon and Google had some issues and they removed youtube app from the fire Tv stick but youtube can be sideloaded or can be opened with Silk browser or Firefox which comes with the fire Tv stick.Price-*I got it during The Great Indian sale when it was priced at 3000 and also got a cashback of 200.*Which makes it a total of Rs 2800.*On Prime day it was sold for 2799 and extra cashback was there too.*I would suggest you wait so that you get good deals.*I don’t think it’s a good choice to buy it for 4K as you can get better options like the Mi Tv Box.Overall Verdict-*Amazon Fire TV Stick works like it is supposed to: streaming your digital content onto your regular old dumb TV set.*In my experience with this device, it has given me no cause to complain. I have fallen in love with it.*If you are a movie buff or you love watching English series, movies, Youtube videos and other content online, or you wanna convert your old dumb Dabba tv to a smart one then this device is for you.*Don’t think twice. Buy it and start streaming. You’ll fall in love with it. :)*If you’ve any queries regarding the product or its working, feel free to contact me. Happy to help.*Hope this was Helpful.Happy Shopping 🙂

  3. it’s amazing, and it does not eat up all the data.Per movie, it eats up around 300 to max 500 MB data.Even I do not have a broadband connection with JIO 3Gb at 299 plan, I can enjoy my firestick, along with completing my work and surfing Fb.To be honest, FB is eating UP more Data Due To adds and videos. Just be cautious about it and check the data usage.

I am using Fire TV Stick from the last 1 year. I am very much happy with the device. It has all the required features to turn your normal TV into smart. Smooth interface with no lags and compatibility with most of the Apps except the Google Apps. It totally does the job for media viewing experience.———UPDATE———Video added to show a demo of the interface and Alexa Functionality in the device. Hope it helps.——–NOTE:——–Do check if your TV supports a Universal Remote for controlling. Not every brand or model does that. So ON/OFF, Volume Control and mute might or might not work. The new remote that has IR feature now, can Turn your TV ON/OFF and control the TV Volume. This is a very practical move which should have been included in the previous version.————————————–Supported Famous Apps/Games:————————————–Prime Video, Prime Music, Hotstar, Netflix, Airtel Cinema, Jio Cinema, Zee5, Viu, Youtube (Via thrid party apps), Firefox, Riptide GP2, Asphalt (But storage won’t be enough), Crossy Roads Etc———————–Unsupported Apps:———————–Google Photos, Google Drive, Facebook, Jio Tv, Airtel Tv, Playstore——Pros:——1. Easy to setup.2. Intuitive interface with curated content.3. No stuttering or hangs with good internet speed.4. Supports Phone Mirroring.5. Casting support for Prime Videos, Youtube Videos.6. Option to sideload Apks.7. Very responsive remote.8. Remote app available to control from phone.9. Alexa for voice search.10. Above all, its a stand alone device unlike chromecast.——-Cons:——-1. The screen mirroring has a slight lag, making it not suitable for gaming from phone.2. Voice search in the remote works only for the content in Prime Video.3. Does not have a great game collection.4. Limited storage and no SD card support.5. Slow startup times. (Best to not switch off the adapter)6. No option to add another amazon account. Only one account at a time.————–Conclusion:————– If you are OK with using two remotes, you can buy the previous version that is available at discounted price. But if you don’t, then buy this without any hesitation. Either way you will have a great device for your family.I just wish they increased the internal storage at least in this version. So one star reduced only for that.

Don’t buy this version now if you want to play Jio Cinema moves. I am very sad as movies in Jio Cinema aren’t streaming in this advanced version of Amazon firestick though it was working fine in previous version. Media files Jio cinema are alway in buffer mode and not playing at all. Moreover HotStar takes around 10 mins to launch. My WiFi speed is 50 Mbps. I trusted the brand so I bought in relaunch only without checking the review of the device and this made me unhappy with the big brand like amazon. I will return this advanced version and buy the initial version. Prime Video’s are streaming very well that’s why i am giving rating 1.

I have a 🔥TV (non 4K) which I found to be excellent and when the 4K version was stated for release, I pre ordered it. However, I am extremely disappointed with it. I have a 55 inch Android VU TV, 2018 model which supports 4k as evidenced by 4k videos from YouTube but for the fire stick 4k, the brightness and contrast was pre set to a dismal low value. It was too dark to watch. There is nothing in it to adjust my brightness and I gave up and went back to my fire TV non 4k one which atleast looks vibrant and joyful to watch. The 4k one is just appalling. I am sorry but Amazon totally let me down here.

I have old firestick, bought this new 4K stick.. to be frank i don’t see any difference eventhough its showing as playing Ultra HD there is no much difference for 1080p and Ultra HD. Sound quality in my sound bar is okay… If you really don’t care about 4K can still buy the old stick..I returned it to save my 6k. I’m 1000% satisfied with my old one.

Firstly I am the early adopter of the technology and bought Amazon Fire Stick when it was launched, currently using over 7 of them in all my TVs as well as my car, simply love the freedom of watching your favourite entertainment anywhere and everywhere. Now I was too excited to see Amazon launching their 4K fire stick as with due course of time, most of the TVs have been upgraded to 4k, however there so li’l content to watch in UHD, So I ordered this 4K Fire Stick last month when it was announced.Ordering and Delivery :It was such a long wait, It took more a month for Amazon to finally launch it and even more time in delivery, I was really disappointed with long wait and even more when it was available on delivery for next day, but I had to wait as I placed my order earlier. What else there were no discounts or special pricing either on pre-orders, thumbs down to Amazon.Unboxing :I unboxed the 4K Fire Stick when the product was delivered and it was almost similar to my previous Fire sticks only visible differences were the size of this one is slightly bigger (check the pics) and there in no Amazon written on it (previous one had it). Other than that, it’s pretty similar. Remote has few additional buttons, including power on/off (Yes it can switch off your TV as well) and Volume rocker and a mute button, all are very useful and much awaited, however Volume button will only control the volume of your TV, I am not able to make it work on my Bluetooth speakers, overall its welcoming feature.Performance and difference :Now comes the most important part, how does it compares to the previous Fire Stick (2nd Gen), I installed the same on my LG55″ OLED TV to experi. Amazon Prime again has very limited options for 4K/UHD content, however Netflix do stream some interesting content, I played the same on UHD quality and yes there was certainly some improvement in the quality, even the usual content (1080P) was slightly better as reported by my wife, who is addicted to daily soap operas and reality shows. Having said that the difference was not that great, which I was expecting. Moreover when I tried the same on some friend’s low budget UHD TVs, it was minuscule and one cannot makeout any difference in quality of the image or sound. I was expecting it to be faster as the specs are much better than my previous fire sticks, however to my utter surprise, it was infact much slower to browse through different apps and much more laggy in browsing through menus, I just hope maybe some firmware update will improve the same, however in current iteration it feels more like a downgrade than upgrade.Final Verdict :Well if you have a high quality UHD/4K TV, high speed broadband connections (I am using 1gbps connection), Netflix premium subscription, this is your first Fire Stick, techno-head and have an eye for detail, then I would say it’s a worthy pick, for everyone else normal Fire Stick would do just as good. This one definitely comes with additional buttons on remote and was bundled with Alexa, however the later was also added in previous Fire Sticks and stole that advantage as well. Maybe some firmware update in future will improve its performance or some considerable drop in price will make it a compelling buy but till than I am sticking to my previous fire sticks for all other devices. Thanks for reading !Update : The remote is extremely unresponsive, at times doesn’t work at all, or scrolling is continuos (you can’t stop it), already applied for the replacement, will comment once replaced.Update 2: 4K Fire Stick is just getting worse, it hangs even with 1gbps connection and modem less than 1m away from it, even worse it can’t stream movies from my NAS, which is again connected through same Wifi network. Most of the times if losses connectivity from router stating, No network available, surprisingly previous (2nd gen) Fires ticks works flawlessly on the same network, this one is also extremely slow and unresponsive, I have even reset it to factory defaults multiple times and result is same every time. What is more frustrating, that Amazon is not responding for replacement or refund, feeling duped by Amazon this time.Update 3 : After umpteen no. of attempts, endless conversations with customer care and spending hours with their technical support team, today I have finally returned their 4K Fire Stick device, as the review suggests, its totally not worth it, Hopefully Amazon launches a better, lag free, bugs free update and I might go for it, as for now, I have to contempt with the normal fire stick, 4K/UHD content has to wait.

Aftet TRAI new rule, it is exepensive to see the normal paid channels. I have a request to Jio to provide JioTV app for fire stick.

Very very nice product. After using it i have disconnected my DTH connection as it is useless. If u have a good data pack with mobile or broadband or dungle then use fire stick, not DTH. Aftet TRAI new rule, it is exepensive to see the normal paid channels. I have a request to Jio to provide JioTV app for fire stick.

I am using Fire TV Stick from the last 1 year. I am very much happy with the device. It has all the required features to turn your normal TV into smart.

But if you don’t, then buy this without any hesitation. Either way you will have a great device for your family.I just wish they increased the internal storage at least in this version.

I had this device in wish list since launch. Was very excited to find it being launched in our country. With cost of internet going down significantly & good content availability since few years, Amazons FireTV is undoubtedly the best option. My TV was already smart along with Mira-cast support so I avoided it for long. Then LG stopped supporting this model & its app store degraded with time having less or no content/apps.I still ignored this as I was very much occupied with mobile and content. Then came another headache with TRAI rules which significantly increased pricing of DTH packages, with 1/4th of earlier channels at same price. So I thought now is the time to switch to this wonderful fire TV device & extend things beyond DTH channels with several of streaming services at our disposal, all via big screen instead of small mobile screen.•••••••••••••••••••••••••INTRO TO FIRE TV•••••••••••••••••••••••••A perfect streaming device which brings in Alexa voice smartness & goodness of Internet TV with curated content by several providers. As add on you also get Screen Mirroring (Miracast) & Cast. It’s a world of entertainment contained in small Android platform based standalone HDMI stick with 1000’s of movies, TV shows, apps etc, all in Full HD (1080p). Number of apps are preinstalled with a lot of FREE content and you are free to install others.P.S. Min connection speed of 4Mbps is recommended for pleasant experience.•••••••••••••••••••••••••INBOX CONTENTS•••••••••••••••••••••••••1. Fire TV stick2. Good quality, solid build device with easy setup (make sure to use high speed broadband instead of mobile hotspot, else be ready for ‘amazon home not reachable’ issue).2. Fully capable standalone streaming device based on Android platform.3. Highly capable Bluetooth remote with Alexa voice support. It does not require pointing to device.4. Remote also has IR capability for general TV functions (on/off/volume/mute). This requires pointing to TV’s receiver.5. Mobile app available to control device. So dependency on physical remote is less.6. Intuitive, fast & snappy interface without significant lag. It lags if music or install task is running in background.7. Rich curated free content with almost all of streaming services supported. Prime, Netflix, Hotstar, SonyLiv, Spotify, Gaana etc. Premium content requires subscription.8. Capable Amazon app store to find many of required apps.9. Since android based, you can just side load any other android app.Compatibility is another thing.10. Supports Screen cast/Mirroring/Mira-cast. So covers up Chrome-cast as well.11. Web browser available to virtually support any content on web, if app not available. E.g. YouTube12. Wake up of fireTV via home button also switches on TV if not on. (HDMI CEC required)13. Alexa can also switch on TV. “Alexa, Turn on TV” (HDMI CEC required)14. Deep integration with Prime video and music. Alexa voice or fireTV search will not work for content of other apps. It though works fine for music across other apps.15. It comes preregistered to Amazon account used to make purchase.16. Compatible with smart home devices via Alexa enabled remote. E.g. Philips Hue, Smart switches, Cameras etc.17. Sufficiently long USB power cable.18. Remote range is more than 55 feet. I was able to check up to 55 feet and it worked well.19. Video quality setting, low, medium, high to have a check on data usage. To set, Settings → Preferences → Data monitoring → Video quality••••••••CONS••••••••1. Biggest issue is the search which is exclusive to Prime content. For rest it displays browser or YouTube link. For such a streaming device, search should extend across all apps.P.S. It works ok for playing music across other apps. If songs not found on prime, it searches it on others and play accordingly or you can even specify app.2. Limited storage with no card support. So you are left with only ~5 GB for deployment.3. Since it’s just another HDMI device connected to TV so if you switch inputs and does not exit streaming content on Fire TV, it keeps on running and consuming data.4. Sending device to sleep does not auto switch off TV unlike waking up which switches it on. It need to be manually done.5. No Google Playstore support & Amazon store has limited apps.6. No YouTube native app.7. Costly accessories be it remote or Ethernet adapter.8. Screen mirror is slow with ~1 sec delay but so happens with TV’s built in Miracast too. You just can’t avoid this lag due to high bandwidth & processing requirement. Here cons are having slight affect on functionality of device. For that 1 star deducted. So a 4 star device.•••••••••••••••FEATURES•••••••••••••••▶ SMART TV# Simply converts dumb TV to smart TV by proving world of internet & entertainment on screen# Comes with a lot of goodness of Android platform▶ ALEXA VOICE REMOTE & SMART HOME# Now a day’s Alexa works well in Indian context and can very well understand the accent.# Alexa enabled remote is there to impart smartness to home too with voice control for smart home devices like Philips Hue, Smart switches, Smart bulbs etc# All Alexa skills work here. No need to point the remote to stick as it connects via BT3. Press and hold home button to bring up shortcut menu. (Apps, Sleep, Mirroring, Settings)4. Press and hold voice button, to give voice commands or interact with Alexa.5. IR control viz on/off, volume up/down, mute requires pointing to TV or other device.6. IR setup is launched on first start up. Plays an audio & asks to adjust volume. Switches different IR codes to find compatible one. Works similar to MI phones IR remote app configuration.7. Remote firmware is also updated from time to time. Takes approx. 2-3 min.•••••••••••••••••FIRE TV APP•••••••••••••••••There’s wonderful app on Playstore which works as an alternative to remote with full functionality including Alexa voice. In fact it will ease up your typing across FireTV interface with regular keyboard on mobile screen. Also helpful in copy paste operations across Fire OS.Just connect stick to Wi-Fi and app discovers it. So only thing you need to key in via TV screen keyboard is Wi-Fi password. For rest there is app. ;)••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••AMAZON FIRE TV APP STORE & APPS••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Having a built in store is a plus as you don’t need to fiddle around for apps. Amazon app store is quite good with a good set of required apps for devices core functionality. Prime apps come preinstalled. Some useful apps are listed.VIDEO:: Prime Video, Netflix, Hotstar, SonyLiv, Zee5, Voot, Jio Cinema, Eros Now, VLC, MX PlayerMUSIC:: Prime Music, Gaana, SpotifyWEB BROWSER:: Silk, FirefoxFILE EXPLORER:: ES ExplorerNEWS:: AajTak Live, ABP Live, NDTV, Aljazeera, BBC News, NBC NewsStill it’s limited and not as rich as Playstore. So for others, since device is android based, use your imagination. You can side load just any apk via wireless transfer. Download via web browser is disabled. Compatibility matters here as all are not optimized for TV experience.E.g. some really useful apps but not compatible: AirtelTV, JioTV, TataSkyTVFor side loading,a) Install ES Explorer on mobile & FireTV.b) On your Fire TV, go to Settings → Device → Developer Options & turn on ‘Allow apps from Unknown Sources’.c) Download desired apk on mobile.d) Transfer to FireTV using ES to ES LAN transfer and install.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••FIRE TV VS FIRE TV 4K••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••4K version of Fire TV comes with some goodies like 4K content support, slightly better processor to support 4K content, HDR videos, Dolby Atmos, BT 5.0 etc but are they worth 2k extra you need to pay?▶ Major hurdle here is 4K content availability. Our country is still catching up with Full HD content. 4K is far from reality for at least a few years. Rest features can be easily neglected.▶ Then comes internet data. 1080p consumes approx. 2 GB per hour while 4K consumes approx. 7 GB per hour. Do you have that much data at your disposal? (Keep JioFiber’s preview offer aside, you will have to pay someday)▶ 4K version lacks screen mirroring. So if its a big deal for you, then its.UPDATE: With latest update version 6.2.6.3 Miracast is now supported. You can always upgrade later on as these devices are not meant to last forever. Two or three years later, you will feel the need to upgrade. Getting a 4K stick then, will make a lot of sense.Even having a 4K TV at present is not a good idea. It’s a gimmick for now which looks good on store display with optimized 4K content, but useless in real world.•••••••••••••••••••••FINAL VERDICT•••••••••••••••••••••▶ If you want to convert you old TV or even old smart TV (my case) with limited content to full featured smart TV with lots of content from different providers, Alexa goodness & smart home control, you are good to go with this Fire TV stick.▶ In fact it can even act as replacement for DTH as all of channels are live with premium/subscription packages for apps or you can watch your favourite shows a day later on respective apps.▶ If on previous generation of FireTV stick, upgrade only if you need new remote with IR functionality. Rest hardware is same.▶ Then there’s 4K version of Fire TV. General suggestion would be to avoid it for now and save some bucks for subscription services, unless you want extra performance.4K stick’s performance is 1.5 to 2 times as compared to 1080p stick. But an average user won’t notice the difference. Future proofing is another thing. As every electronic device tends to slow down after say a year or two.▶ We also have MI TV box and other android TV boxes available. MI TV box is not officially launched here while other boxes are have quality issues.
